Wide-Field Milky Way Night is our one photography-focused session, scheduled for the months when the galactic core is well-placed above the horizon after dark. Guests bring their own camera if they have one; a small stock of tripod-mounted cameras is available for those who don’t.
We walk through the basics — wide aperture, high ISO, an exposure long enough to gather light but short enough to keep stars as points rather than trails — and then let the group shoot mostly independently for the second half of the session, checking in on request.
This is also the session most likely to be rescheduled for moonlight rather than cloud; a bright moon washes out the Milky Way’s contrast far more thoroughly than it affects the other sessions.
